GMBs Susanna Reid taking break from shows as she makes interrupting dig

Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid confirmed she's now stepping away from the ITV show for a few days.

The TV favourite declared she's heading away for the half term and is wrapping up her last show on Wednesday (May 24), while her fellow hosts continue to fill in.

After his segment on The Little Mermaid, Richard Arnold cheekily said to Susanna: "Oh look at you – someone's going on half term."

Susanna responded: "I can confirm I am off today. Leaving it in your capable hands – no more interruptions during your segment."

Richard laughed and continued to give updates on The Little Mermaid, confirming it'll be hitting the cinemas at the weekend before moving on to a segment on Tom Hanks.

The entertainment reporter discussed claims that Tom Hanks was looking "grumpy" on the red carpet and explained that it was revealed by someone in attendance that he was merely struggling to hear.

As they dissected the photos, Susanna wanted to jump in – but asked permission beforehand.

She said to her co-host: "Can I just make a point?", prompting Richard to say: "Yes you can interrupt now."

Susanna added: "Thank you, it won't happen for another 10 days."

She then assessed the photos which saw him holding a fist in one snap, but in another the fist had his thumb point in the other direction as if he was pointing at a place to ask if he should be there.

The TV star added: "See, you can tell a different story by a different angle. The camera never lies but as we know it's exactly where you sit."

Susanna's break comes as the schools go on half term with the TV star joining to take the week off.

She often takes time away from the show over the holidays, as does many other hosts across daytime TV.

The show will continue to air on ITV but instead with relief hosts stepping in with various presenters leading for the next 10 days.

Susanna is expected to return on June 5.

GMB continues weekdays from 6am on ITV.
