Inside Escape to the Country star Nicki Chapman's jaw-dropping home with 'oasis' garden and unlikely 'panic room' | The Sun

ESCAPE to the Country star Nicki Chapman's stunning home and rarely-seen music mogul husband are the two biggest loves in her life.

The TV presenter has opened up about her extravagant 'oasis' West London home.

Television and radio presenter Nicki has helped many potential buyers find their dream homes for nearly 20 years on BBC's Escape to the Country.

However, her own Chiswick house in West London with Wi-Fi outside and a unique 'panic room' is her proudest property job.

The BBC Radio 2 host has dubbed her stunning house, located in the heart of the capital, her 'oasis'.

Her home includes an open-plan kitchen with a television, skylights and a large dining table for 10, which Nicki described as a "beautiful, open, spacious communal area".

Most recently, the Wanted Down Under presenter refurbished her massive, beautiful back garden.

Nicki stated that her most prized possessions are her beautiful personalised paintings of her and her husband, Dave Shackleton, which hang on the wall side by side, painted by Sheffield artist Pete McKee.

She explained: "He did some personalised pictures of my husband and I, and they're probably my most treasured possessions at home."

However, the TV star admitted that her most unique interior object is her 'panic room', which is basically a massive wooden chest with storage space underneath.

She revealed: "We've got bird food, cushions and blankets inside. I call it the panic room because if anything ever happened, we would dive into it."

The former Castles in the Country star disclosed that the inside of her home looked luxurious and expensive, with all of her rooms effortlessly stylish with lots of white furnishings, wooden accents, colourful rugs and cushions, and gold and green walls.

However, the 56-year-old's garden is the most impressive asset to her home, with plenty of shrubs and greenery, a modern terraced area, outdoor sofas and  Wi-Fi outside, so she can work surrounded by birds, bees and trees.

Nicki explained: "This small but beautiful garden has helped keep me happy over the past 13 years, more than ever in 2020.

"My proudest moment was when we were able to film in it for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. I gave myself a gold medal. It's my escape, my sanctuary, my special place."

Nicki lives with her husband, Sony music executive Dave 'Shacky'  best known in the industry as Dave Shack.

The couple, who met in 1999 and tied the knot while working for RCA Records, have no children together.

Two years ago, on their 22nd anniversary, Nicki shared an adorable tribute to Dave and her garden.
