The celebrity chef has fronted his own ITV cooking show, James Martin’s Saturday Morning since 2017. Before that, he presented BBC cooking programme, Saturday Kitchen, which is now hosted by Matt Tebbutt. James also regularly appears on the cooking segment of ITV’s This Morning, presented by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield. James’ Saturday Morning usually airs at 9.25am every Saturday, although some fans were disappointed to see the latest instalment was a repeat from January 2021.
The programme saw appearances from comedian Omid Djalili, as well as chefs Pip Lacey and James Tanner.
Introducing the show, James began: “Welcome around to my house. I am joined in the kitchen by two fantastic chefs.
“Together we are going to be serving up an eight-course banquet for one of the country’s funniest comedians.
“So, what we’re going to be doing out here, let’s get cooking.”
“He continued: “Good morning and what a show we have for you today.
“Throughout the morning, we will be joined by comedian, film star and all-round funnyman, Omid Djalili will be here.
“I am taking a trip down the Thames with another one of my food adventures.
“I’m going to be cooking a delicious one-pot dish at the end of my garden.”
“And, we’ve got chefs James Tanner and Pip Lacey, a Saturday Morning newcomer will be with us,” he added.
“Dropping by with some fantastic recipes of their own.
“And if you ever want to make your cabbage more exciting, then don’t miss this week’s masterclass.”
Following the segment, some viewers took to social media to air their frustration about the episode being a repeat.
One tweeted: “@jamesmartinchef so, we are watching your Saturday Kitchen thinking it’s live.
“Yet you are making a pasta that is ideal for these January days! When will you be back ‘live’ on TV?” (sic)
“Have we seen this episode before?” another penned as one quizzed: “Is this a repeat?”
James was quick to respond to his disappointed fans as he explained he will be back to filming new episodes next month.
He went on to add that during the summer months, the show always takes a break.
The chef penned: “Sorry but we always have a summer break as sport is on normally and the Olympics. Back in the studio next month.”
One of the chef’s followers replied: “Aww…don’t apologise…everyone deserves a summer break…” (sic)
Another penned: “Loving the reruns of Saturday kitchen with @omiddjalili.”
James Martin’s Saturday Kitchen airs on Saturday at 9.25am.
