Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) is on a mission to win back Mick (Danny Dyer) in EastEnders, but doing so will prove incredibly difficult because Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) has well and truly has got her claws into her man!
The Queen Vic landlady arrives back in Walford next week in time for Tina’s (Luisa Bradshaw-White) funeral, but it doesn’t take long for her and Mick to start arguing once more.
Linda’s attention, however, is soon elsewhere as, at the crematorium, Janine catches her eye, and she recognises her as the woman who paid a visit to her mum’s pub on New Year’s Eve.
You know, the very same woman who encouraged her to start drinking again, not to mention dishing out ‘advice’ for her to divorce Mick!
With Janine showing Mick support as he delivers the eulogy, Linda storms out of the service, before seeking solace in the booze.
She proceeds to cause a scene at the crematorium, and later makes her way to the pub to have it out with her new nemesis.
Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) does her best to intercept, warning Linda that one must have a plan of attack in defeating super schemer Janine, but it’s no good, as a very drunk Linda enters The Vic and publicly calls Janine out!
It seems as though Mick doesn’t believe her, however, as subsequent scenes see the pub landlord open up to Janine about his desire to enter into a relationship with her, before the duo ultimately lock lips.
Linda, meanwhile, hits the booze harder, and she ends up lashing out at Frankie Lewis (Rose Ayling-Ellis), a move which could prove to be her downfall, as Mick witnesses the altercation and puts his foot down.
Afterwards, he kisses Janine publicly, and resolves to go away with her for a short while. But not before delivering news of his new relationship to Linda.
The question is: just how will she take it? Janine is quite clearly winning in the war for Mick’s affection, but will Linda do as Sharon says and devise a plan to prove that she is the one who belongs with Mick?
Or is this really the end of Mick and Linda’s marriage? Only time will tell!
