In September 2018, Louise cycled 198 miles along the coast of Australia for Cancer Research UK.
Louise has written one book so far called Dare to Tri: My Journey From The BBC Breakfast Sofa To GB Team.
Yet she exclusively told The Sun how her "biggest regret" was giving up swimming at a young age.
“I was a good swimmer,” she explained. “I loved it, and I went every single day.
“Then one day I looked in the mirror and I thought, ‘Oh gosh, I've got really muscly shoulders. I don’t like them and I know it’s swimming,' so I gave it up.
“I find that absolutely devastating to this day.”
Louise, who now competes in marathons and triathlons, told the audience of 100 teenagers from the Girls Network and Greig City Academy that she would tell her younger self to stick to sport.
“Over 30 years later, I took up sports again and now I take part in sport pretty much every single day,” she said.
“I go all over the world competing in triathlons, and my message to all of you, if you do a sport you love, stick to it.
“It’s an immense physical and mental help to me, it helps me get through really tough times at work and at home, so carry that on if you can. Don’t give up for 30 years.”
She married her husband David Minchin in 1998 after admitting they were childhood sweethearts.
The couple have two daughters: Mia and Scarlett.
