Love Island was full of clashes and heartbreak last night as the impact of the Casa Amor recoupling sent shockwaves through the villa. So much has happened in the dramatic episode (Wednesday, July 3) viewers were left reeling at what they saw. Here’s a quick recap of what happened on Love Island last night.
Amber confronts Michael
After Michael Griffiths paired up with new girl Joanna Chimonides in the Casa Amor recoupling, viewers were left waiting to see what would happen next.
When Amber Gill re-entered the villa and found out what had happened, she was extremely upset.
Caroline Flack asked her why she stayed loyal to Michael, to which she replied: “Because I’m a loyal human being, that’s the way that I am, that’s what I wanted to do. I had a sneaky feeling. It’s disappointing.”
In his defence, Michael said he thought Amber wasn’t that into him and he thought she would have recoupled in the Casa Amor villa.
The dumped Islanders who were not chosen in the recoupling were sent home while those who haven’t yet met introduced themselves.
After this, Michael and Amber had a heart-to-heart at the fire pit, where Michael laid it all on the table.
He said to her: “You never really allowed me to open up to you because you didn’t really open up to me. That’s the ultimate point.”
WHO ARE THE LOVE ISLAND 2019 COUPLES?
Amber is clearly emotional about what happened and chose to confide in Anna Vakili and Ovie Soko about her feelings.
As a result, Anna went to confront Michael about his decision as she said: “Who are you? You lead a girl on for four weeks saying ‘I like her so much, my head won’t be turned.’
“You waited for another girl to come in to make it a thing before we left it was fine.”
Curtis admits the truth to Amy
Viewers saw Curtis Prichard choose to stay coupled up with Amy Hart after being rejected by Jourdan Riane.
Amy was visibly emotional and pleased to be coupled up again with Curtis but last night’s episode saw him tell her the full story.
He told her: “I felt everything with us was absolutely perfect and I could see a future then the new girls came into the Villa.”
He then told Amy about how he admitted his feelings to Jourdan, that they kissed and how he wanted to recouple with her.
Amy said: “So she said no, so you were like ‘Oh right then go back to Ames.’”
Viewers were left heartbroken seeing Amy so upset at this revelation.
She said: “My whole life I’ve been looking for someone who accepts me for me and I truly thought I’d found that and I thought you’d found that in me. Where do I go from here?”
After speaking to her fellow Islander, Amy then decided to confront Curtis once again.

She said to him: “I was coming back to the Villa to tell you that I loved you. I’ve been away for four days and I come back to find out that you’ve been snogging other people and telling other people you fancy them, telling
them you want to re-couple with them.
“You have zero respect for me to do that in front of my friends. I feel like I deserve better than to be basically cheated on.”
Anna reveals that she still cares for Jordan
In the latest recouping, Anna Vakili decided to recouple with new boy Ovie Soko instead of Jordan Hames.
Last night, viewers saw the pair have a chat with each other, admitting that they missed each other.
Jordan said to her: “I did genuinely miss you and I realised that obviously. I’m not really vocal with my feelings.”
