Nick Knowles devastated as BBC cancel his show Home Is Where The Art is

NICK Knowles has revealed he is devastated as the BBC has cancelled his show Home Is Where The Art is.

The DIY SOS presenter told of his disappointment on Twitter.

Nick's arty show has been axed by the BBC -and he's not pleased.

It came after a fan asked: "@MrNickKnowles will you be doing another series of Home is where the art is please? I have really enjoyed this show. "

Nick, 58, confirmed: "Sadly no, the BBC have decided to decommission the show. Shame as I thought it a change from usual elitist art shows."

He added: "Yes I was disappointed about this one – it got a good audience despite no promotion and reduced the impression of elitism in art."

Fans were gutted and took to twitter to share their disappointment.

One wrote: "We loved it. Shame."

Another said: "That's a pity – it showcased local artists, and it was a great introduction to them, and their talents."

A third chimed in: "That's sad news, was really hoping it would come back – such a great idea for a show and brilliantly executed."

The Sun Online originally revealed the Beeb were working on the programme in 2018.

It would see the DIY SOS man help members of the public find a sentimental piece of art.

A BBC source said: “In Home Is Where The Art Is, Nick will help members of the public find a piece of art which means something to them, such as something that brings back memories of a dead pet.

“The participants have to be willing to spend between £100 and £500 on the art, and Nick and the team will go on the hunt for a perfect bit of art to mark a special occasion.

“It could be a birthday, an anniversary or a tribute to someone who has died."
