The fourth and final season of Ozark has finally wrapped filming as Netflix subscribers count down the days to its 2022 release. With the stories of Marty (played by Jason Bateman) and Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney) set to end in an explosive final outing, the cast and crew, past and present, inevitably can’t wait to see how the story plays out on-screen. And one such actor is none other than the man behind series villain Roy Petty (Justin Butler Harner) who paid tribute to his time on the drama in a lengthy post.

Harner took on the role of the twisted, manipulative and callous Roy Petty for the best part of the first two seasons of Ozark.

Always on the lookout for himself and hellbent on bringing down Marty and the cartel, Petty had little to no consideration for anyone around him.

This meant emotionally manipulating local Russ Langmore (Marc Menchaca), blackmailing bar manager Rachel (Jordana Spiro) and threatening Ruth Langmore (Julia Garner).

His time on the show came to a gruesome end when Cade Langmore (Trevor Long) lost his temper and killed Roy while he fished in a lake, leaving his body to sink into the water.

Nevertheless, despite the hard-hitting and emotionally charged scenes, Harner paid tribute to the show following the final day of filming by describing it as one of his best ever jobs.

Alongside a series of snaps from the show, including unseen behind the scenes photo, Harner penned: “Today is my birthday and also the last day of shooting for @ozark.

“Roy’s long dead but today I salute this phenomenal company. I’ve never loved a crew more or learned more from a whole experience.

“Thank you all – esp the force that is JB, the genius Chris Mundy, the truly singular & beloved Laura, and the GOAT script supervisor Pam.”

The actor continued: “Sending all of you such love on this day. It’s been an incredibly challenging, lengthy year for all of you and a phenomenal, seminal journey.

“I hope you all get to rest and relish in your incredible accomplishment. Congratulations. I’m in awe of each and every one of you.

“Well f’en done. Cheers to you. And people – I only know a few spicy tidbits and …. Y’all are gettin’ a juicy AF last season!” (Sic)

And while a number of fans weighed in with their well wishes, a number of Ozark’s cast also reached out to the actor.

Sam Dermody star Kevin Johnson took to the comments section to pen: “Happy birthday, buddy!!!”

Maya Miller star Jessica Frances Dukes weighed in: “HAPPY BIRTHDAY JBH!!!!! #FBIFAM FA LIFE!”

“You are missed. Happy Birthday man! Jonah,” wrote Skylar Gaertner, who plays the Byrdes’ youngest child,

And leading lady Laura Linney added to the discussion with a series of love heart emojis.

While he may have paid tribute to the series, it doesn’t sound like Harner will be reprising the role of Roy for the fourth and final outing.

His death was rather definitive after Cade dumped his body into one of the Ozark’s many lakes.

However, the Netflix drama is no stranger to a flashback or dream sequence so there is the small possibility Petty could return.

Fans will have to tune into the final series when it airs next year to find out for sure.

Ozark season 4 is released on Netflix in 2022.
