Roy in danger in Corrie as he stands up to Griff's anti-refugee campaign

Roy Cropper (David Neilson) will always speak his mind when he knows something is wrong, but he could live to regret his actions next week as he goes up against Griff Reynolds (Michael Condron) in Coronation Street – the man at the centre of the extremism and grooming storyline.

Griff’s ears pricked up a few weeks ago when he learnt that Max (Paddy Bever) had lost his place at Weatherfield High because Daryan – an Iranian refugee – was offered it instead.

As Max spends more and more time with Griff, Spider (Martin Hancock) voices his concerns to the teen, saying he shouldn’t be using his creative talents for the likes of Griff.

As the week continues, Brian (Peter Gunn), Roy, Gary (Mikey North) and Maria (Samia Longchambon) head to the community centre for a meeting allegedly about the environment.

However, when Griff arrives and address the audience, his true agenda becomes perfectly clear.

When Roy voices his opinion and picks apart the factual errors in the speech, Griff is annoyed, further wound up when the audience start applauding Roy instead.

Joined by Toyah (Georgia Taylor) in the café, the residents all agree that the community centre would be a perfect place to offer help and advice to refugees.

Meanwhile, after another argument with David (Jack P Shepherd), Max heads to Griff’s flat and sits down with him, preparing to watch the film of the meeting.

But what will Griff do next?
