Sarah Ferguson furiously denies Im A Celeb stint

Sarah Ferguson ‘wouldn’t be here’ without screening appointment

Sarah Ferguson has reportedly denied that she was in talks to appear on this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! after it was alleged she “pulled out” after refusing to talk about her ex-husband Prince Andrew.

A spokesperson told The Sun: “There has been no such approach, she did not consider appearing and no discussions of the sort suggested have taken place.”

The publication claimed producers were close to officially signing the Duchess of York but alleged the 64-year-old requested she wasn’t asked about her ex-husband.

An ITV source said: “Execs pulled out all the stops to get a huge name and were agonisingly close to sealing the deal with the Duchess.

“But part of the attraction of getting someone with an interesting life story is that there’s always the possibility of sharing it with the campmates.

“For Fergie, the prospect of being put on the spot with millions watching at home was just too much. Neither side was willing to budge in the end.”

Express.co.uk has approached ITV for a comment.

Sarah and Prince Andrew divorced in 1996 but still live together.

Last year saw former rugby star-turned-royal Mike Tindall appear on the ITV reality show.
