Ben Mitchell’s (Max Bowden) dodgy dealings have proven a great source of conflict for Martin Fowler (James Bye) in EastEnders, but his antics begin to infect to his relationship with Callum ‘Halfway’ Highway (Tony Clay) in the coming episodes, which leads to Callum making Ben a proposition.
After learning that Callum’s interested in joining the police, Ben is left somewhat conflicted, as he doesn’t know how his relationship with him could carry on considering the dodgy antics he gets up to. What’s more, Martin gets wind of Callum’s dream job and proceeds to use it wind Ben up.
Afterwards, Ben informs Callum that he’s unsure if they could remain an item if he were to become a policeman. Meanwhile, Ben asks Martin to do another job for him — and threatens his family if he refuses to do so. However, Kathy overhears the whole exchange.
Later, Kathy confronts Ben about his awful behaviour, but Ben’s having none of it — an exchange which Bobby (Clay Milner Russell) witnesses and later informs Callum about. While doing so, Bobby encourages Callum to follow his heart and become a police officer.
Kathy asks Lola for help in sorting Ben out, and she plans a weekend trip for them with Lexi. Eventually, Ben agrees, and his mood improves — that is, until Callum arrives and propositions him.
The conflict is rife between the boyfriends, but what is it that Callum asks of Ben?
