Carla Connor (Alison King) was left speechless in Coronation Street tonight (September 25), as Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) made a horrifying comment, but will it ultimately bring an end to their relationship?
With Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) having come to believe that Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) was having an affair with Peter, she wasted little time in informing Kevin (Michael Le Vell) about her theory.
Kevin was devastated, and headed rounds to the Rovers to confront Peter, and when he came face-to-face with Carla, he told her that he believed her beau was having an affair with Abi.
Carla was upset at such a statement, but when Peter and Abi arrived in the pub together, she started to believe that Kevin’s theory was true.
However, Peter and Abi attempted to clear things up, with Abi revealing that she made a drunken pass at Peter, but he rejected her.
Carla didn’t know what to believe, and when she learned that Peter was struggling emotionally and had been confiding in Abi about what he’d been going through, she was hurt all the more.
While she seemingly came to believe that Peter was telling the truth about nothing going on between he and Abi, she struggled to forgive him for keeping his struggles a secret.
Words were exchanged in a heated showdown, but Peter went too far when he brought up drug dealer Jordan, who terrorised Carla.
‘Trying [in regards to Abi kissing him] being the operative word’, Peter said, ‘Nothing happened. We didn’t even kiss. You slept with Jordan, and I didn’t complain once.’
Carla was distraught — reminding Peter that she was ill at that time, and therefore she ordered him to get out.
Will this spell the end of their relationship?
