Tarantula terror in Doctors as a spider escapes and causes chaos

New receptionist Scarlett (Kia Pegg) receives an alarming phone call in Doctors next week from a patient who thinks their pet tarantula has escaped and is on the loose in the surgery!

The timing is especially bad as the Sutton Vale surgery has already been thrown into chaos by the sudden and unexpected arrival of an important visitor. His name is Deep Chandra (Satnam Bhogal) and he is the new Director of Primary Care at the CCG.

His visit coincides with a period of mayhem, caused by the runaway spider, which Jimmi (Adrian Lewis Morgan), incidentally, eventually spots.

But will he be able to catch it?

Meanwhile, Al (Ian Midlane) makes a poor first impression on Chandra while Maeve (Clelia Murphy) is distracted by an angry drug dealer (Gary, played by Mark Holgate) who seems to have sort of grudge against her and has injured his foot on some broken glass.

Chandra also asks Maeve some difficult questions about a discrepancy in patient numbers which she and Jimmi manage to brush aside. Despite all this, the visit seems to go well. But are there more secrets from Sutton Vale’s past which are still yet to emerge?

In a separate development, another patient, Denise (Susie Fairfax) seems absolutely dead set on seeing Jimmi and Jimmi alone at the surgery. But just why is she so keen to see him? Meanwhile, Scarlett grows increasingly nervous as Al launches is on a not-so-covert operation to uncover the identity of the Gabber poster. Will Scarlett be able to keep this information secret? Only time will tell.

Following last week’s love triangle chaos, Zara Carmichael (Elisabeth Dermot Walsh) decides to put Emma Reid (Dido Miles) in charge of training Princess Buchanan (Laura White).

Princess attempts to win Emma over with an immediate charm offensive, but Emma is having none of it.

Doctors airs these scenes w/c Monday May 9 on BBC One.
