Fans of The Chase were left rather annoyed during the latest episode when presenter Bradley Walsh asked a contestant how "old" they were.

On Wednesday night's show, a young player called Evie gave an impressive performance during her cash builder round.

Blowing viewers at home away after she achieved £6,000, Bradley was also stunned and was quick to point out how well she did.

But fans were left enraged when the host asked the 19-year-old contestant how old she is.

Heading straight over to Twitter, avid viewers shared their grievances.

One social media user exclaimed: "DON'T ASK A PLAYER THEIR AGE!!"

Another annoyed fan said: "Bradley asking contestant how old they are klaxon!"

While a third penned: "How old are you?" Followed by a monkey covering its eyes emoji.

Although Evie had Bradley and the nation behind her, the student hit a stumbling block when faced with chaser Jenny Ryan.

After answering a few questions correctly in the second round, the player was unfortunately caught by Jenny who put on a stunning performance.

Heading over to Twitter, viewers were clearly displeased with the unexpected result, with one viewer writing: "That was a great episode of #TheChase. Very strong team and Jenny on top form, only got a couple wrong all night. Shame they lost Evie too."

Another echoed: "Evie was a little sweetie, shame she didn’t get through to the final chase…"

While a third said: "Ah that’s a shame. They really needed her in the final chase!!!!"

Three players made into the final and made £19,000 between them.

But despite achieving 21 correct answered questions, chaser Jenny was on fire and didn't hold back when showcasing her impeccable quizzing knowledge.
