On May 25, 2021, Dreymon shared a post on his social media of the new “set mascot,” and it’s a must-see for fans. A video starts with Dreymon with his hair made up as Uhtred as he pets a calico cat while he wears a black shirt. The cat purrs next to him, and he sits on set in what could be the makeup room. Dreymon continues petting the cat, who sits contently nearby in his chair with him.
Suddenly, someone comes on the walkie talkie, and Dreymon makes a face and says, “Anyone out the chair yet. No,” he reveals. “We’re busy petting the cat,” he says while holding the walkie talkie.
In the next video shared, Dreymon is up from the chair as he pets the cat, who is sitting in his chair. He pets the cat again after saying, “I’ll be back,” before leaving out the door. In the final video, loud noise can be heard, but the cat lays in the chair asleep while on a towel.
Dreymon captioned the post on Instagram while revealing the cat, named CC, is the “set mascot,” which is appropriate: “‘CC’ is our set mascot. She was a stray; now, she’s part of the TLK fam. She likes to sleep…cuddle…cuddle while she sleeps…and to sleep while being cuddled. (She pretends to be in love with me, but really, any lap will do…).”
He also adds: “If you watch season 5 carefully, you might spot her passed out somewhere in the back of a shot. #cat #purr #catsofinstagram #adoptdontshop.”
Over 87,000 people liked the post and over 3,000 commented on it. Season 5 of The Last Kingdom has a furry “set mascot,” and it’s one fans can surely appreciate.
