This Morning's Dermot O'Leary in angry clash with guest Bev Turner as she slates Covid vaccine

THIS Morning's Dermot O'Leary ended up raging at Bev Turner today in a furious row over the Covid vaccine.

The 48-year-old presenter got caught up in the debate and clashed repeatedly with the guest when she said the jab wasn't effective.

Bev, a TV and radio presenter, has insisted young people are better off rejecting the jab.

The 47-year-old said of the vaccine: "It does not stop you catching or passing on the virus."

But exasperated This Morning host Dermot told her loudly and sternly: "It does."

He said: "We don't have a chance to have long-term data because we have this virus. We don't have that luxury. Why are you so sceptical about the whole thing?"

Bev told him: "Because of the fact, there's a 99.8 per cent survival rate from Covid-19. The average age of death is 82."

Dermot hit back: "Are we not supposed to care about those people?"

Beverley said she should but called the coronavirus vaccine a "trial drug" saying: "This jab is not a vaccine by any traditional definition.

"It doesn't stop you catching Sars CoV-2, it doesn't stop you transmitting it."

The show descended into heated scenes with everyone, bar This Morning co-host Alison Hammond, trying to make their point.

At one point Matthew Wright, the other guest in today's news review, called Beverley "massively irresponsible".

Many fans cheered him and Dermot for his tough stance with one tweeting: "Dermot is getting P***ED!"

Another wrote: "Good to see antivaxer Beverley getting a hard time for once. Go Dermot and Matthew!!"

Bev has been at the centre of several controversies in recent months, getting blocked by Piers Morgan after insisting in February that she wouldn't clap for Captain Tom Moore.

The commentator, the former wife of Olympic rower James Cracknell, tweeted: "Sir Tom Moore and his family did a brilliant job of raising £ for the nhs.

"It's great that he lived to 100! It's awesome that he got one last fab holiday.

"But I'm not clapping in the St to maintain the fear that imminent death is all around & we're all in this together. We're not."
