This Mornings Holly Willoughby relives puppy poo disaster

Holly Willoughby has spoken out about a poo disaster that occurred the first night she brought her adorable new puppy home.

The This Morning presenter appeared on Jonathan Ross’ talk show to chat about her new book, Reflections and her family life.

The 40 year old opened up about how the arrival of the latest addition to her family, golden retriever Bailey, has not been as “picture perfect” as it might appear.

Holly began: “She is the sweetest, sweetest thing. We’ve always been a cat family.

“They’ve [the kids] been going on and on about it. We decided this was the right time. It hasn’t been the kind of picture-perfect thing I thought!”

While, Holly describes her as the “sweetest thing”, Bailey did not make a great first impression on the family after they woke up after her first night at home to find her covered in poo.

Holly explained: “The first day we brought her home, we were recommended to get her a crate.

“She was as good as gold, I came down the next morning, I walked down to this crate… before I saw her, I smelt her. She was covered in her own s***. She’d gone from white and perfect to stinky.”

It quickly dawned on the presenter that if she let Bailey out, then her whole house would be covered in poo.

Instead, Holly had to pick up the poo-covered puppy and get the “white fluffy dressing gown” she was wearing covered in dog poo.

Holly continued: “[I realised] I’m going to have to pick [her] up. I’m covered [and was in the garden showering her down]. Husband came out covered in it from cleaning the crate. [We thought] What have we done?”

Yet, after the poo explosion and ruined dressing gown, Holly added: “She is pretty perfect actually, apart from that first night. I think she did it on purpose. I think she’s quite a clever girl.”

The TV host has been keeping her 7.4 million followers up to date with her gorgeous puppy since she arrived home. Even posting an adorable snap of herself getting cosy on the sofa with her snoozing four legged friend.

The mother of three captioned the sweet snap: "Just when you get to the point where your kids lie in on a Sunday… I’m up with this one… now she sleeps… lucky I love her so much…"

While, Holly said that Bailey “changed everything” on her lifestyle brand website, Wylde Moon.
