This Super Awkward Luke P. and Hannah Body Language Analysis Proves They Have No Connection at All

Are you sick of listening to Luke P. and Hannah harp on about how strong their “connection” is? I am. I’m exhausted, honestly. It really seems like there is nothing between these guys besides some sexual tension, a whole lot of arguing, and a mutual love of God, but for some reason, the dude keeps bringing home roses. To see if there’s genuinely a spark between these two, I spoke to body-language expert Blanca Cobb. Spoiler: These two have NO connection.

Hannah and Luke P. both show signs of discomfort during important conversations.

Remember in the third episode, when Hannah told Luke to back off? She felt like he was coming on too strong and blocking her from interacting with the other guys. The conversation became confrontational very quickly.

Blanca points out that Hannah starts playing with her ear right at the :30 mark. “When people are experiencing anxiety or uncomfortable about what they are hearing, they will start self-soothing. She’s a little uncomfortable.” Sure, you could always argue that she’s feeling awkward because it’s a difficult conversation…but at this point, Luke’s just telling Hannah how amazing she is. Uh, red flag.

Then, around the 1:44 mark, Hannah tells Luke that she’s bothered by the fact that he can’t seem to respect her other relationships. If you look closely, you’ll notice that he’s sticking his tongue out. “When you push your tongue out immediately after you hear something, it indicates that you don’t like what they’re saying,” says Blanca.

As the conversation continues, Luke’s body language keeps giving him away. He really doesn’t like what he’s hearing. At 2:04, Luke has visible tension in his forehead while he looks down and rubs his chin. Blanca describes this as a “cluster of different body language moves” that prove that although he’s trying to be attentive, he really dislikes what Hannah is saying.

Their body language doesn’t sync, emotionally.

I’m just going to go ahead and apologize for making you listen to Luke talk about his “life-changing” shower again. I’m so sorry. But this video pretty much proves that they have no connection.

Blanca says that this clip shows a serious “mismatch in body language.” If you’re connected to someone, you tend to take cues from them, but here, Luke is serious and Hannah is smiling. Blanca believes that this is weird, because it indicates that something is wrong.

“When you don’t have emotional synchronicity, it says you’re not on the same wavelength,” Blanca explains. “It says that the couple is off.”

Right after this clip, Hannah asks Luke to kiss her. (You can watch that part here.) That should be good, right? Eh, not for these two. Blanca says the exchange played out super awkwardly. “Normally, when you’re asking for a kiss, you’re ready for that embrace. She leans back, he’s leaning forward…and then, she rearranges her hand and ends up grasping his face and it’s just weird. It just didn’t flow for me.”

They seem genuinely happy…but there’s no proof of a connection.

Here’s a sweet little plandid (you know, a posed candid) of Hannah and Luke. These two may seem happier than a bunch of kids chasing an ice cream truck, but Blanca says the connection’s just not there.

I just want to address the elephant in the room here really quick. First I want you all to know how hard it has been for me to watch myself this season so far. Regardless of what is aired AND IF @alabamahannah and I are together or not my behavior in all situations has been and will continue to be exposed. I have learned a lot and I am continuing to learn about my flaws as a man. I’m the first to admit I am far from perfect. This journey has giving me a great opportunity to grow and mature as a man, for that I am grateful. For those of you who are on this journey with me I am grateful for your support and hope you get to learn and grow from my mistakes with me!

“They’re both smiling with eye crinkles, you can see the tops of their teeth, and the cheek muscles are pushed up. This is all indicative of genuine smiles,” says Blanca. But, there’s a catch. “Her hand is on his shoulder. It’s more of a closed hand, but it’s not tight. Normally if you have a connection, you will lay your hand flat because you want to touch them. Your fingers will open up on their shoulder. The palm of the hand would touch them.”

The bottom line? This connection is not believable.

Sure, Hannah and Luke keep waxing poetic about their amazing connection, but there’s a reason you’re not buying it.

“You can say whatever you want, but you have to show it to be believable. When we don’t see it, we don’t believe it.”

And that is the tea, Bachelor Nation.
