Where Peep Show stars are now – from steamy throuple drama to marrying a royal, horror crash and awkward One Show gaffe | The Sun

IT’S the UK cult comedy classic that launched now Oscar-winning actress Olivia Colman to fame.

Running from 2003 to 2015, Peep Show followed the chaotic lives of geeky Mark Corrigan – played by David Mitchell – and his work-shy housemate Jeremy ‘Jez’ Usborne, played by Robert Webb.

Famous for its point of view shots – which even extended to kissing – and internal monologues, the show first aired on Channel 4 20 years ago today.

We all know what happened to Olivia, who played Mark's on-off girlfriend Sophie Chapman, and the hilarious Mitchell and Webb continue to grace our screens.

But what about the other characters who entered Mark and Jeremy’s lives?

From marrying into royalty and a near-death car crash to a surprising cameos in a pop video, we reveal where the stars of Peep Show are now.

Lady Sophie Winkleman (Big Suze)

Sophie Winkleman, the half-sister of Claudia Winkleman, played Big Suze – Jeremy’s very posh former flatmate, who he was obsessed with throughout the series.

In real life, Sophie, 43, is even posher, becoming a Lady in 2009 when she married King Charles' nephew Lord Frederick Windsor in a wedding estimated to be worth £200,000.

But she suffered a horrific accident in December 2017, when she almost died in a head-on car crash, which led to a broken back and severe abdominal injuries.

She even feared she might never walk – or work – again, and struggled with everyday tasks, like picking up her daughters Maud and Isabella for a whole year.

Thankfully, she is now back in work and last year played Kathleen in the TV adaptation of This Is Going To Hurt.

Matt King (Super Hans)

Essex-born Matt King, 55, had been working as a builder, chef, DJ and stand-up comic in Australia for 15 years before Peep Show's creators discovered him at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

They thought he was perfect for the part of Super Hans, Jez’s druggie friend who was partial to a bit of crack – although Matt has insisted he’s never touched drugs himself.

However, in 2019, he did quit smoking and drinking.

Following Peep Show, Matt has continued acting, starring in TV drama The End of the F***ing World and the hit Paddington movie.

He also wrote a six-part British series, Whites, starring Alan Davies, and appeared in the music video for the Sam Fender single, Saturday.

Isy Suttie (Dobby)

Isy Suttie, 45, played Dobby, Mark’s fellow oddball colleague who he and Jez end up fighting over.

She has been with Radio X host and fellow comedian Elis James since 2009, when they met at a comedy gig in Barnstaple.

They went on to have a daughter in October 2014, after which Isy developed migraine-associated vertigo, and a son born in January 2019.

In 2016, Isy proposed to Elis. They are yet to tie the knot.

Since starring in Peep Show, Isy has regularly popped up on TV shows including Damned and Man Down. She also narrates Posh Pawn.

Vera Graziadei (Elena)

Vera Graziadei, 40, is most well-known for playing Elena in Peep Show – Mark and Jez’s chaotic Russian neighbour, who works as a part-time legal secretary in human rights law… and deals cannabis on the side.

Since Peep Show, Vera has moved far away from comedy, writing and directing short docudramas.

Vera recently won Best Female Director of the Year and Best Drama Short of the Year, for The Silent Canary, at the Independent Short Awards.

Rachel Blanchard (Nancy)

Canadian actress Rachel Blanchard was already quite well-known when she played one of Jez’s many love interests Nancy – who marries him for a visa –  in Peep Show.

She’d starred as the lead character, Cher Horowitz, in the TV spin-off of teen cult classic Clueless.

Since Peep Show, Rachel has starred in sexy throuple drama You, Me, Her, and can currently be seen in The Summer I Turned Pretty.

Cariad Lloyd (Megan)

Cariad Lloyd played Megan in Peep Show – who was sleeping with Jez behind her boyfriend Joe’s back.

The 41-year-old is now a celebrated podcast host and grief expert, having started Griefcast in 2016.

Having lost her dad to cancer aged 15, Cariad uses her podcast to invite comedians on to talk about their grief in a light-hearted way.

Griefcast has won several awards, including best Entertainment Podcast and Podcast of the Year at the British Podcast Awards and an ARIA Award for Best Podcast.

She also published a book on grief, You Are Not Alone, earlier this year.

Paterson Joseph (Johnson)

Alan Johnson AKA Johnson was Mark’s alpha-male boss, who stole Big Suze from Jeremy – and was played by Paterson Joseph.

Since Peep Show, he has starred in loads of TV shows, including Noughts and Crosses, Babylon and Vigil.

He is soon to be in Boat Story, on Amazon Freevee.

Earlier this year, he was the subject of an embarrassing One Show blunder when he was mixed up with fellow actor Patrick Robinson.

Apologising for the error the following day, host Jermaine Jenas said: “We are really very sorry for an error in last night's programme.

“We showed a scene from Casualty featuring Anne Reid and wrongly mentioned that Paterson Joseph was in the clip as well. It was of course Patrick Robinson who famously played Martin 'Ash' Ashford, Paterson played Mark Grace later in the 90s. Our apologies to Patrick."

Jim Howick (Gerard)

Gerard Matthew, played by Jim Howick, was Mark’s ill co-worker and love rival for Dobby, eventually dying in the eighth series of Peep Show.

Jim is still very much on our screens, having written and starred in Horrible Histories, for which he won a children’s BAFTA in 2011.

He’s also been in Broadchurch and is a regular in Ghosts and Netflix hit Sex Education.

Camilla Beeput (Zahra)

Camilla Beeput played another one of Jez’s love interests, Zahra – who he meets at the hospital while she’s looking after her boyfriend, Ben, who’s in a coma.
