Since Asan N'Jie was given the boot by ITV bosses for his clash with Jamie Lomas at the TV Choice Awards, Emmerdale fans have been wondering what was next for his character, Ellis Chapman.
While some thought he'd be written out completely, others held out hope that they'd be seeing more of Ellis under a new actor.
They breathed a sigh of relief recently after it was announced the role of Ellis would be taken on by 28 year old British actor, Aaron Anthony.
The star's best known for his role in 2017's controversial comedy drama Delicious, in which he acted opposite screen legends like Dawn French, Emilia Fox, and Game of Thrones' Iain Glen.
Fans will be relieved to know he's tackled soap roles too, including a 2015 role as Hector Kidd in Holby City and as Nathan Westwood on Doctors from 2017 to 2018.
Aaron also has a role lined up with Netflix on the streaming service's upcoming production, Behind Her Eyes.
Not one to limit himself to the screen, Aaron's list of stage performances is equally as impressive – he's been in the West End and even at Shakespeare's Globe.
He's chuffed to be joining Emmerdale, saying: "Emmerdale is a cracking show with a brilliant cast that I'm over the moon to now be a part of.
"I know Ellis is a well loved character and I'm looking forward to continuing his journey and all that's in store for him."
While an exact date isn't yet known, Aaron will be showing his face on our screens sometime in December.
Asan was kicked off the show for "unacceptable behaviour" at the TV Choice Awards, during which he threatened to stab and kill Hollyoaks' Jamie Lomas.
An ITV statement said: "Emmerdale suspended Asan N'Jie yesterday pending further investigation into an incident at a central London hotel on Monday night.
"ITV executives have met with him this morning and as a consequence Asan's contract has been terminated with immediate effect."
