After three seasons, NBC’s “Will & Grace” is coming to an end, again.
The reboot sitcom will wrap in its upcoming season in 2020, NBC announced Thursday.
“Will & Grace” was part of a wave of revivals when it returned to TV in 2017. The third and final season will include 18 episodes.
The cast also shared the news on social media, commenting on how much they would miss working on the show.
“For all “Will & Grace” fans, I am sharing the news that this is going to be our last and final season (which premieres this winter),” wrote Sean Hayes, who plays Jack McFarland on the sitcom.
“To everyone who watched the first run and to everyone that encouraged this reboot, we did it all for you,” he continued.

Eric McCormack, who plays Will Truman, also shared his thoughts on the wrap.
“Well, we’re taking this one out like we brought it in: with love, laughs, gratitude… and on our own terms. Season 3 of #WillandGrace (well, season 11!) will be our grand finale… and it’s gonna be FANTASTIC,” he wrote.

When the comedy first aired, from 1998-2006, it was a ground-breaker for its depiction of gay friends Will and Jack. However, the reboot showed the two in a much more progressive time period.
“What’s topical about it is these characters are living fully. Despite what happened a few years ago with marriage equality in 50 states, (gay rights are) more under fire than ever,” said McCormack in a 2017 interview.
Debra Messing and Megan Mullally also starred in the original and the reboot, which followed a much-viewed 2016 election-themed reunion video.
In a joint statement, the new show’s producers said they consulted with the cast in deciding to bring “Will & Grace” to a close.
