Priscilla Presley made her first red carpet appearance since the death of her daughter Lisa Marie Presley as she celebrated the premiere of the Priscilla movie.<\/p>\n
Stepping out at the Venice Film Festival, Priscilla, 78, led a string of glamorous arrivals.<\/p>\n
Wearing a black satin co-ord with sheer sleeves, the redhead posted for cameras.<\/p>\n
The star finished off her look with a pair of black heels and carried a handbag as her only accessory, with a pop of colour coming from her bold red lip.<\/p>\n
Priscilla joined US director Sofia Coppola, 52, who brought the new Elvis biopic to the silver creen.<\/p>\n
The filmmaker looked elegant in a black silk gown as she turned up to mark the release of the highly-anticipated flick.<\/p>\n

Cameras truly went wild, however, when the lead stars rolled up, with Cailee Spaeny and Jacob Elordi\u00a0now worlds away from their Priscilla and Elvis transformations.<\/p>\n
Cailee, 25, wowed in a dazzling white gown with a plunging neckline and beaded pearl embellishment.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Euphoria star Jacob, 26, who portrays the Jailhouse Rock hitmaker, looked super suave in a double-breasted suit.<\/p>\n
The 80th annual Venice Film Festival has been unconventional, to say the least, given the strikes that hit Hollywood earlier this year.<\/p>\n

As a result of the ongoing Sag-Aftra walkout, many stars have boycotted this year\u2019s festival in solidarity.<\/p>\n
There are some exceptions, though, with the likes of Priscilla and Adam Driver movie Ferrari able to have their moment as they were made by independent studios, which doesn\u2019t break strike rules.<\/p>\n
The trailer for Priscilla dropped back in June, with fans in awe as they finally got their first glimpse of the cast in character.<\/p>\n
Based on Priscilla\u2019s memoir Elvis and Me, the upcoming film follows Priscilla\u2019s life with the King of Rock, to whom she was married for six years.<\/p>\n

The movie will chart their romance right from the early days when she was just a teenager, with the teaser sharing recreated snapshots of their wedding in 1967, and the birth of their only daughter Lisa Marie in 1968, who died in January this year.<\/p>\n
Director Sofia signed on last September, with filming taking place over three months.<\/p>\n
When asked what made her want to adapt the biography for her next feature film, she told\u00a0Vogue: \u2018I\u2019ve had her memoir for years and remember reading it a long time ago.<\/p>\n
\u2018A friend of mine was talking about her recently, and we got around to discussing the book. I read it again and was really moved by her story.\u2019<\/p>\n

\n<\/p>\n
She continued: \u2018I was just so interested in Priscilla\u2019s story and her perspective on what it all felt like to grow up as a teenager in Graceland.\u2019<\/p>\n
The big premiere in Italy comes after Priscilla herself attended the photocall and responded to questions about her relationship with Elvis.<\/p>\n
The Hollywood Reporter\u00a0wrote that Priscilla paid an \u2018emotional\u2019 tribute to her late husband, who died in 1977. <\/p>\n
\u2018It\u2019s very difficult to watch a film about you and about your life and about your love,\u2019 she said.<\/p>\n
\u2018But Sofia did an amazing job. She did her homework. And I really put everything out for her that I could.\u2019<\/p>\n
She also insisted she and Elvis \u2018never had sex\u2019 upon first meeting, when Priscilla was just 14.<\/p>\n

\u2018Elvis would pour his heart out to me,\u2019 she continued. \u2018Even though I was 14, I was older in life than in years.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018And that was the attraction. People think, \u201cOh, it was sex, it was this\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u2018Not at all. I never had sex with him. He was very kind, very soft, very loving. But he also respected the fact I was only 14 years old.<\/p>\n
\u2018We were more in mind and thought and that was our relationship.\u2019<\/p>\n
