{"id":66864,"date":"2023-09-06T13:45:01","date_gmt":"2023-09-06T13:45:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rapidcelnews.com\/?p=66864"},"modified":"2023-09-06T13:45:01","modified_gmt":"2023-09-06T13:45:01","slug":"freddie-mercury-auction-watch-live-brian-may-says-its-too-sad-i-cant-look","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rapidcelnews.com\/music\/freddie-mercury-auction-watch-live-brian-may-says-its-too-sad-i-cant-look\/","title":{"rendered":"Freddie Mercury auction watch live \u2013 Brian May says It\u2019s too sad, I cant look"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Freddie Mercury exhibition opens at Sotheby&#8217;s<\/h3>\n<p>Earlier this year, Mary Austin \u2013 the former lover of Freddie Mercury whom he left so much in his will to \u2013 announced she was auctioning off the contents of his Garden Lodge home.<\/p>\n<p>For the last month, the Queen singer\u2019s private possessions have been on display at Sotheby\u2019s in London for the public to see, with almost 140,000 people visiting.<\/p>\n<p>This exhibition closed yesterday on what would have been Freddie\u2019s 77th birthday ahead of the auctions.<\/p>\n<p>The first of them, a black tie ticketed event, takes place tonight at 5pm with some of the most valuable and precious lots going up for sale.<\/p>\n<p>Included among these is Freddie\u2019s Yamaha Baby Grand Piano on which he composed Bohemian Rhapsody and is estimated at \u00a32-3 million.<\/p>\n<p> <strong> Read more&#8230; <\/strong> <strong>Freddie Mercury\u2019s 77th birthday celebrated by Sir Brian May and Roger Taylor[FREDDIE MERCURY] <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.images.express.co.uk\/img\/dynamic\/35\/590x\/secondary\/freddie-mercury-piano-4946270.jpg?r=1694006269152\"><\/p>\n<p>Despite all the excitement, not everyone is behind Austin\u2019s decision to auction off Freddie\u2019s possessions.<\/p>\n<p>Queen guitarist Sir Brian May expressed his sadness over the whole affair on his Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>The 76-year-old began by sharing a picture of the late singer, saying: \u201cInescapably thinking so much about Freddie in these strange days. At the time this photo was taken I\u2019m sure it didn\u2019t seem very important to see Freddie\u2019s fingers dancing on my own homemade guitar. Now it summons up waves of affection and great memories.
