Gregg Wallace has been slammed by frustrated followers after praising his own and his wife’s slim figures while promoting his lifestyle plan.

The MasterChef judge, 58, also revealed his exact weight on an Instagram post, extolling the virtues of their approach to food and their health, while claiming they ‘don’t diet’.

TV personality Gregg has lost five stone since 2017 after he overhauled his lifestyle, following on from a stark doctor’s warning that he was at great risk of a life-threatening heart attack.

Since then, he has actively encouraged his fans to join him in prioritising their health.

However, his latest message on Sunday didn’t appear to go down well with some of his followers as the presenter and self-described ‘pudding enthusiast’ seemed to annoy them by bragging about being ‘slim’.

‘We are slim and well, the pair of us. I weigh just over 12 stone. We don’t diet, in fact we eat big meals every day!’ Gregg wrote in the caption of a smiling selfie of the couple taken on the beach.

‘Anna has never been in a gym,’ he added.

‘What we’ve learned is how to eat healthily, not be hungry, not willpower and not portion control!

‘I’ve helped hundreds of people and I can help you too.’

Gregg tied the knot with Anne-Marie Sterpini, 36 – known as Anna – in 2016, with whom he welcomed son Sid in 2019.

‘I don’t think that’s entirely true a gram of fat will sit differently on different body types and metabolisms. Some people will burn this quicker than others,’ responded one of his followers in the comments.

‘Maybe Anna has a faster metabolism. Some people do,’ pointed out another.

‘Some (lucky) people don’t have to get to the gym (on a sensible diet). Others do,’ wrote someone else.

Gregg was also branded ‘privileged’, while another fan posted: ‘Brilliant I weigh the same as Greg 🙄🤣.’

The British Miracle Meat documentary maker was praised by others though, for looking ‘fabulous, healthy and happy’.

‘You both look incredible,’ added someone else.

Last month, Gregg shared a motivational speech on his health journey after appearing on Good Morning Britain.

‘Don’t go on a diet,’ he insisted on the show.

‘Don’t do something that’s really difficult that you can’t maintain. We’re logical people, right? If it’s so difficult and so uncomfortable, you won’t keep it up.

‘What I tell everybody, and this is the key, eat three healthy meals a day.’

Expanding on the point in an Instagram video afterwards, he encouraged his 170k followers to make ‘small changes’ in order to see a difference.

‘The difference between being overweight and being slim is not one major great big leap, like a huge change overnight, but a series of small changes over time. That’s what it is,’ he explained.

‘Just getting better and better a little bit at a time. Not one huge great change that’s uncomfortable, but small little steps.’

The host was also grilled by host Richard Madeley over the circumstances of his departure from Inside The Factory.

Despite stepping back from the BBC2 show in March after claiming he wanted to spend more time with his three-year-old son Sid, the host’s interaction at the Nestlé factory has since been cited as a contributing factor.

The MasterChef presenter was accused of being ‘rude towards staff’ and ‘talking in a derogatory manner, especially to women’ and was alleged to have been ‘appalled’ that he had caused ‘such an offence.’

He said: ‘There was an argument in Inside The Factory. The reporting isn’t accurate. There was an issue and I thought that was the perfect time to come out.

‘Offending people? No, no. If you look at the headlines you can’t see a story that matches those headlines. But there was an issue; I don’t want to discuss what the issue was.

‘But I thought it was a good time – Mum needs help with Sid at home, running around the country going to those factories – I thought it was a good time to give something up.’

His replacement fronting the series has now reportedly been lined up as Top Gear host Paddy McGuinness.

Metro.co.uk has contacted a rep for Gregg Wallace for comment.

Got a story?

If you’ve got a celebrity story, video or pictures get in touch with the Metro.co.uk entertainment team by emailing us celebtips@metro.co.uk, calling 020 3615 2145 or by visiting our Submit Stuff page – we’d love to hear from you.
