Actress Prunella Scales looks worlds away from her character in Fawlty Towers in unearthed pictures.

The actress, who is famous for her role as Sybil Fawlty, was dressed as a naughty schoolgirl in the black and white photos.

Prunella, who was aged 29 in 1962, had her hair in plaits and paired her schoolgirl outfit with a black bowler hat.

The first image showed the Fawlty Towers star gripping onto some school gates, while the actress had a shocked expression on her face in the second.

Before landing her role in the BBC comedy, Prunella started her career in the theatre as an assistant stage manager.
