After much anticipation (and a surprise teaser on his Paris Fashion Week runway), Peter Do has officially lifted the veil on his Banana Republic collaboration. The collection, out now, offers a sartorial melting pot of Do’s subversive signatures and BR’s poised design codes across a total of 28 punkishly pared-back pieces.

Outerwear composes a sizable portion of the minimalist range, fusing traditional Banana Republic silhouettes with Do’s multifunctional outlook. Among the standouts, the Detachable Utility Trench, made from waxed cotton-nylon twill, reverses to a liner covered in a vintage map of Brooklyn and, like its moniker suggests, features a detachable shearling cape for added warmth. The Tuxedo Utility Blazer, meanwhile, employs an oversized shape with leather lapes, and the City Coat adopts an Italian wool-blend construction with contrasting leather patches and a removable shearling shawl collar.

Down the line, shirting eyes the future with contemporary reinventions of wardrobe staples. The Sweater Henley Tank, for instance, features a multi-layer finish that’s knitted with fine-gauge, viscose-nylon fibers, and the Leather Utility Shirt dons contrasting panels of lambskin leather and goat suede. Trousers, too, rehash the classics: the Artisan Pants take a wide-legged, deep-pocketed approach to BR’s age-old bottoms, and the Tuxedo Drill Trousers up the ante for formalwear with silk-satin stripes, pleats and an adjustable-tab waistband. Rounding out the range, printed silk twill scarves front aged city maps in black and white tones.

The Banana Republic x Peter Do collection is now available to shop on BR’s webstore and in the brand’s stores. Prices range from $100 USD to $1,200 USD. Take a closer look at the range in the gallery above.
