<\/p>\nEastEnders icon Nina Wadia has teased a major return to the show – 10 years since her character Zainab Masood left.<\/p>\n
The actress, played the outspoken feisty matriarch of the Masood clan on the long-running BBC soap from 2007 until 2013. And it\u2019s fair to say she was involved in big storylines, including her struggles with her son's sexuality and the return of her abusive first husband Yusef.<\/p>\n
But in 2013, Zainab said goodbye to Albert Square when she left Walford with her son Kamil to pursue a new life. In real life, Nina said she exited from EastEnders in a bid to pursue other acting roles. <\/p>\n

However, Nina has now hinted that she could be returning to the soap in a big twist. She told OK! magazine: \u201cPart of me needed to leave and I was devastated.\u201d<\/p>\n

The comedian went on: \u201cI didn't suit being in the same character for that long and I was finding myself climbing the walls with just playing Zainab. They were kind to me on the show in that they didn't kill her off and I'm sure at one point I will return."<\/p>\n
Since leaving EastEnders, Nina has gone on to star in shows such as Trollied, Death in Paradise and recent ITVX smash Count Abdulla. But the actress still says Zainab is the one character she gets recognised the most for.<\/p>\n

She added to the publication: \u201cI still get called Zainab when I'm out and about. I still get asked when I'm going back to EastEnders, and if I love Masood even though I left over a decade ago!"<\/p>\n
Back in August, Nina told Daily Star how she once asked for a selfie while she was in labour. The TV favourite was giving birth to her son Aidan when she was asked for the snap by a crazed fan.<\/p>\n

She told the Daily Star: \u201cThe strangest place I\u2019ve been recognised was when I was giving birth. They asked for a selfie. IIt was really odd timing. It was a slightly strange sensation. It was a very unusual time to ask. It\u2019s not a good thing to happen when you\u2019re mid-delivery!\u201d<\/p>\n
Nina wasn't keen to have her photo taken while she was giving birth so she turned them down. She added: "My response was, 'How about not now. maybe after'."<\/p>\n
