CMT<\/I> has announced a star-studded lineup for the upcoming “Smashing Glass: A Celebration of the Groundbreaking Women of Music” special scheduled to air on Wednesday, November 15th, at 9 pm ET\/PT on CMT<\/i>.<\/p>\n

The show will honor Patti LaBelle<\/b> and Tanya Tucker<\/b>, with some special performances and presentations from Billie Jean King<\/b>, Chris Janson<\/b>, Clint Black<\/b>, Fancy Hagood<\/b>, Ledisi<\/b> and The War & Treaty<\/b>.<\/p>\n

LaBelle and Tucker will participate in a special roundtable conversation with Sheryl Crow<\/b> and also perform on stage.<\/p>\n

Amber Riley<\/b>, Lucie Silvas<\/b> and Mickey Guyton<\/b> will honor the late women of music with “Moments of Respect” and tribute medleys to Aretha Franklin<\/b>, Sinead O’Connor<\/b> and Tina Turner<\/b>. Aretha passed away in 2018, while O’Connor and Turner died in May and July 2023, respectively.<\/p>\n

Sports icon and equality champion Billie Jean King will kick off the inaugural celebration and presents to Tanya Tucker. Multi-platinum Grammy-winning country star Clint Black<\/b> will honor Tanya with a special rendition of “Texas When I Die,” while Grand Ole Opry member Chris Janson<\/b> will honor Tanya with a performance of “It’s A Little Too Late.”<\/p>\n

Singer\/songwriter Fancy Hagood will introduce Patti Labelle ahead of the icon’s own performance. Grammy-winning vocalist Ledisi is set to deliver a soul-stirring tribute performance of “New Attitude” to honor Patti LaBelle.<\/p>\n

A statement from CMT reads, “CMT Smashing Glass is an all-new, genre-defying musical salute to the incomparable women who smashed stereotypes, broke records and defiantly blazed trails for future generations of female artists. The inaugural genre-blending music event will honor the exceptional careers of icons Patti LaBelle and Tanya Tucker and honor the late women of music with once-in-a-lifetime performances, surprise appearances and ‘Moments of Respect’ tributes to Aretha Franklin, Sinead O’Connor, Tina Turner and more.”<\/p>\n
