Following its Ed Sheeran release in October, Hodinkee is continuing on to the second part of a three-part collaborative project with G-SHOCK, where John Mayer acts as a curator. Throughout the project, Mayer works with collaborators, each being connected to him via music, design, or watches and helps them to realize their own unique creations.

For the second part of this project, Hodinkee, G-SHOCK and Mayer are teaming up with Los Angeles-based design house Online Ceramics to unveil the “G-SHOCK Ref. 5600 By Online Ceramics Limited Edition For Hodinkee.”

Following the successful G-SHOCK Ref. 6900 – Subtract By Ed Sheeran, this collaboration continues the creative journey, with Online Ceramics bringing its flair to the iconic G-SHOCK 5600 model.

“We’re excited to unveil the latest collaboration with Hodinkee and Online Ceramics’ imaginative touch,” said Tadashi Shibuya, Vice President of Casio Timepiece Division, adding “This series represents a collective journey of imagination, with each collaborator leaving an indelible mark on the G-SHOCK legacy. We look forward to the third and final chapter, as we continue to reimagine the intersection of creativity, innovation, and timekeeping.”

Founded in 2016 by Elijah Funk and Alix Ross, Online Ceramics eventually gained its claim to fame with their Dead & Co T-shirt designs and is celebrated for its playful, psychedelic designs, often featuring tie-dye. Staying true to its design ethos, the brand has lent its quirky and imaginative style to the G-SHOCK 5600, expressed through a deep forest green hue case and strap that features “ONLINE CERAMICS” in late ’60s early ’70s white puff lettering.

Additional design elements include a screen surrounded by yellow, red and orange accents and the brand’s snail logo. Adding to the psychedelic theme, the phrases “Sun Watch, Moon Time” and “Mushroom House Haunted Wagon” frame the face, evoking the sense of a mystical woodland journey — further emphasized by the campaign shoot.

A notable and special feature of this watch is its electro-luminescent backlight, which reveals the phrase “Love Grows In The Sunshine” when activated. Despite its playful design, the watch maintains the renowned G-SHOCK durability with a resin case and strap, mineral glass screen and 200 meters of water resistance. It includes a modern G-Shock module featuring time, date, alarm, stopwatch and countdown timer.

The limited edition G-SHOCK Ref. 5600 By Online Ceramics, produced in collaboration with Hodinkee and John Mayer, comes packed in a special Online Ceramics branded watch box as well as an exterior box. Hodinkee shared that the timepiece will be available for purchase starting today, November 16, at 11:00 am ET via its official site, for a price of $185 USD.
