Coronation Street actress Ellie Leach began her career at the age of nine when her character Faye Windass joined the cobbles. <\/p>\n

She stayed a regular fixture on the soap up until earlier this year, when she decided to wave goodbye to Weatherfield.<\/p>\n

However, she wasn\u2019t away from our TVs for long, returning to compete on this year\u2019s series of Strictly, where she is now within touching distance of the Glitterball trophy.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the finale, we delve into Ellie\u2019s life since leaving Corrie, from her famous cousin to her net worth. <\/p>\n

Ellie was born in Bury, Greater Manchester, on 15 March, 2001, and got into acting very early on.<\/p>\n

As a child, she appeared in television advertisements for Staples and McDonald\u2019s, before appearing in the film A Boy Called Dad in 2009.<\/p>\n

She joined Coronation Street in 2011, where her character Faye was brought in as a potential adoptive child for Anna (Debbie Rush) and Eddie Windass (Steve Huison). <\/p>\n

Ellie had quite a significant tie to the soap before she was cast, as she is the cousin of Brooke Vincent, who played Sophie Webster between 2004 and 2015.<\/p>\n

As well as her adoption storyline, Faye was notably part of teen pregnancy and early menopause storylines over the years.<\/p>\n

However, she waved goodbye to the role in July 2023, after having announced her exit a few months prior.<\/p>\n

In a video she said: "Just want to say a massive, massive thank you to everyone who has watched Corrie over the past 12 years and supported me. And also to my Corrie family, I am going to miss you all so much.<\/p>\n

"And yeah just thank you so much to everyone who has always said nice words and really supported me."<\/p>\n

Ellie, 22, told Hello! she was also keen to explore other projects after being on Corrie for over a decade. <\/p>\n

\u201cPeople have seen me grow up on Corrie and might still think that I am still that schoolgirl, but hopefully people can see that I am grown up now,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want people to know me for me rather than as a character.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actress later confirmed bosses told her they could \u201csee no future for the character\u201d and the part was axed – however the door has been left open for her return.<\/p>\n

The star has gained a significant online following, with over 400,000 followers across Instagram and TikTok, and often shares insights into her life off-screen.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just always want to be open with people,\u201d she said on the panel chat show Loose Women<\/i> in 2022. \u201cI\u2019m not gonna ever say that I\u2019m perfect, because I\u2019m not, and nobody is, but I just wanted to be open with my struggles. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think social media puts on such a big pressure [on people],\u201d she continued. \u201cIt is hard, but I just wanted to show people that I\u2019m just normal; I\u2019m not any different.\u201d<\/p>\n

She confirmed she had joined the line-up of Strictly Come Dancing back in August, and has been absolutely smashing it on the show alongside partner Vito Coppola. <\/p>\n

Ellie is thought to have amassed a significant net worth from her time on Coronation Street, which is sure to only increase after a successful Strictly stint.<\/p>\n

Different sites place her net worth at different levels, with BuzzLearn estimating she could be worth anything between \u00a3810k to \u00a34million. <\/p>\n

Her partnership on the Strictly dance floor has gained her a lot of love from viewers, as well as the judging panel. <\/p>\n
