Alec Baldwin has recently shared his thoughts on his future, stating he wishes to retire and focus on his family after the tragic incident on the set of the film ‘Rust’, where cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was killed. Baldwin, now 68 years old, has faced significant legal challenges since the incident, which occurred in October 2021.

In January 2023, Baldwin was charged with involuntary manslaughter, but those charges were dropped in April 2023. However, in January 2024, he faced the same charges again, which were ultimately dismissed in July 2024. These legal battles have taken a toll on Baldwin’s career, as he has not worked much in the last three-and-a-half years.

Reflecting on his situation, Baldwin stated, “I don’t want to work anymore. I don’t. I really don’t. I want to retire and stay home with my kids.” He emphasized the emotional strain of the incident, saying, “We had this incident, this tragedy, in New Mexico, where Halyna Hutchins was killed on the set of the film, and that was unspeakably difficult to deal with.”

Baldwin has seven children with his wife Hilaria, and he expressed a desire to prioritize his family life moving forward. He noted, “Because of the situation in New Mexico, which was very painful, I wound up staying home a lot.” This period of reflection has led him to feel comfortable at home, stating, “I was home and I got used to it, and I don’t want to leave my house anymore.”

On the day of the incident, the assistant director had informed Baldwin that the gun he was handling was a “cold gun,” indicating it was safe to use. However, it was later revealed that Hannah Gutierrez Reed, the armorer, was convicted of loading a live round into the gun that Baldwin fired.

Alec Baldwin’s journey since the incident has been marked by personal and professional upheaval, drawing significant media attention. As he navigates this challenging chapter of his life, his focus appears to be shifting towards family and healing.
