Purdue Fort Wayne’s men’s volleyball team faced a tough match against No. 11 Lindenwood, ultimately falling in five sets. This defeat brings Purdue Fort Wayne’s record to 9-10 for the season, with a 4-8 standing in MIVA play. In contrast, Lindenwood improved its record to 18-4, maintaining a strong 9-3 in MIVA competition.
The match showcased a competitive spirit, with Lindenwood winning the sets with scores of 25-22, 20-25, 25-18, 27-25, and 21-19. Muir led the match for Lindenwood, contributing significantly with 21 kills, five digs, and four aces.
Meanwhile, in softball, Austin Peay State University’s team encountered a setback, losing 10-4 to Central Arkansas. Austin Peay initially took the lead, scoring the first two runs of the game in the top of the first inning. However, Central Arkansas responded strongly, scoring five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to secure their victory.
Alanah Jones pitched for Austin Peay, throwing 2.0 innings and striking out three batters, but it was not enough to turn the tide in their favor.
Looking ahead, Purdue Fort Wayne will travel to Charlotte for matches against Queens on April 2 and 3. This upcoming series will be crucial for the team as they aim to improve their standings in the league.
