A former Chick-fil-A employee orchestrated a bizarre scheme involving fake mac-and-cheese orders to steal over $80,000 after being fired. Keyshun Jones, who worked at the Chick-fil-A in Grapevine, Texas, was arrested on April 17, 2026 for his actions.
The fraudulent scheme began in November 2025 after the restaurant’s owners reported suspicious refunds. Jones allegedly created roughly 800 fake orders of macaroni and cheese and issued refunds to his personal credit card. Investigators reviewed surveillance footage showing Jones behind the counter after his termination.
Jones was fired from the Chick-fil-A location about a month before the fraudulent activity was discovered. A warrant for his arrest was issued on April 6, 2026. He now faces charges including property theft, money laundering, and evading arrest.
This case highlights a common issue in the restaurant industry—employee theft through fraudulent refunds. Authorities have not said how Jones accessed the register after being fired. The total loss from the fraudulent refunds is estimated to exceed $80,000.
