After announcing they were parting ways, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner’s divorce has moved focus onto the custody of their children.
The day after enjoying a dinner out with Joe’s ex Taylor Swift, Sophie, 27, filed for the return of their two daughters to the UK.
She reportedly requested to secure ‘the immediate return of children wrongfully removed or wrongfully retained’.
Joe, 34, denied the claims of ‘abduction’ and his representative told Metro.co.uk in a statement: ‘They have been with her since that meeting.
‘Joe’s impression of the meeting was that they had reached an understanding that they would work together towards an amicable co-parenting setup.’
The pair have now been ordered by a Florida court to each attend a four hour parenting course, as mandated by law.
In an order seen by The Mirror, it read: ‘All parties to dissolution of marriage proceedings with minor children or to paternity proceedings shall be required to complete the Parent Education and Family Stabilization Course prior to the entry by the court of a final judgment.’
It also prevents the ‘relocation’ of the children without the express permission of both parents.
Sophie reportedly wanted to bring the children back to the UK, where she has been living for several months for filming.
The Game of Thrones star was born in Britain and the couple were said to be considering moving back to the country, even putting their Miami home on the market.
Joe’s statement continued: ‘Sophie advised that she wanted to take the children permanently to the UK. Thereafter, she demanded via this filing that Joe hand over the children’s passports so that she could take them out of the country immediately.
‘If he complies, Joe will be in violation of the Florida Court order.’
The court order also prevents both Joe or Sophie from making ‘disparaging remarks’ about the other.
This is done to protect ‘the children’s right to be spared from experiencing and witnessing any animosity or ill-felling’.
Despite splitting, their relationship must remain ‘low-key’ and as ‘respectful’ as possible.
Sophie was out with Taylor, who Joe famously dumped years ago in a 27-second phone call, the night before suing her soon-to-be-ex-husband.
‘They were normal. Completely normal,’ a source told People about the meal atVia Carota, where the pair dined before going to Temple Bar.
The source continued: ‘Everyone was all excited, but they were normal.’
An onlooker shared that Sophie ‘seemed to be enjoying the night’ as photos circulated of Taylor appearing to be deep in thought listening to her friend.
‘Taylor is a great friend — Sophie can talk to her about anything,’ a second source said. ‘It cheered Sophie up to spend time with Taylor.’
