Stephen Fry, 66, rushed to hospital after falling from stage at O2 Arena London

Stephen Fry was rushed to hospital after he fell off stage at London’s O2 Arena.

The beloved actor, 66, was speaking at a special event at the venue last week when he suffered a horror fall.

Stephen was walking off stage after making his speech when he lost his balance and slipped off the side of the stage – falling six feet and suffering injuries to his ribs and legs.

A source told Mail Online that Stephen ‘fell two metres to the floor,’ adding he appeared to be injured and ‘had to leave in a wheelchair.’

The TV personality was reportedly rushed to hospital following the incident last Thursday, and while it is unclear whether he remains hospitalised, he has not posted on social media since.

Stephen was reportedly speaking at AI and Tech festival CogX when the alleged accident occurred, with a spokesperson telling the outlet they were ‘deeply concerned to hear of Stephen’s accident.’

‘We are thinking of him and wishing him a swift recovery. We have opened our own enquiry and until then we are not able to share any further details.’

Meanwhile, Greenwich council confirmed they received an ‘acccident report’ and was ‘considering whether any further investigations are needed.’

The London Ambulance Service confirmed to Metro.co.uk they were called to ‘reports of an incident at the O2 Arena’ however do not confirm or deny patients’ identities.

A spokesperson added however: ‘We sent a medic in a fast-response car, an ambulance crew, and an incident response officer to the scene.

‘We treated a man for rib and leg injuries before taking him to hospital.’

It comes after the Blackadder star was rushed to a bomb shelter earlier this month in a visit to Ukraine.

In posts shared on Instagram, the actor kept his followers updated on what was going on, explaining he was first rushed to the safety zone in Kyiv.

However he and all other guests got out safely.
