First revealed in fragments at its Fall/Winter 2023 Milan show, ZEGNA has now launched its full-length collection with Los Angeles-based label The Elder Statesman. Alongside “Oasi Cashmere,” the range introduces alternative takes on the luxury fabric whilst showcasing the Italian label’s commitment to environmentally-friendly practices.
Though cashmere has been a part of ZEGNA’s collections since its beginnings, it wasn’t until its FW23 “Oasi Cashmere” collection that an elevated approach to the craft of the material was established. Incorporating new sustainable practices into production, the collection not only saw a development in aesthetics but processes too. So much so, that the brand announced it will embark on a new mission for fully traceable cashmere garments by next year.
Similarly, The Elder Statesman also boasts a long history with the material. Since 2007, it has cloaked individuals with fine blankets, jumpers and other lifestyle products using cashmere fibers. Its unique adaptation of the material has lent to richly textured, comfort-focused collections. As the two brands combine their relationships with the fabric, the new collaboration sees them explore the possibilities of this fine material together while staying anchored to their own high-quality craftsmanship. 1 of 7

Within the assorted range of garments and accessories, ZEGNA’s artistic director Alessandro Sartori looks to the brand’s contemporary tailored silhouettes to form the base blueprint of the designs. Infusing the relaxed California-edge of The Elder Statesman’s DNA, garments become more oversized, relaxed and casual. Blazers and overcoats are refined with minimal pockets and fastenings that, with its cashmere shell, give the appearance of lounge jackets.
For mid-layers, a selection of brightly-toned plaid shirts are reimagined with the soft fiber, providing an enhanced wooly feel. These are paired with tapered bottoms that bring a polished look to the west-coast sensibilities. Completing the range, accessories such as bucket hats, socks and blanket-like scarves are designed to encapsulate this collision of identities, adorning block prints in the vibrant colors typical of The Elder Statesman and the signature Vicũna shade from ZEGNA.
Each piece in the collaborative range is developed by a string of dedicated artisans based across Italy and the US. To further outline its mission in responsible craftsmanship, ZEGNA is set to share a new online vertical that details every part of the collection’s production. Sitting alongside its Bonotto and Lanificio ZEGNA pages, the integrated vertical will feature articles on fabric and yarn sourcing as well as the new processes developed by its craftspeople. Ahead of its traceable system, it hopes this hub of information will educate and offer full transparency with those who wear the range.
