Western High School (WHS) has announced the integration of a new eSports venue into its academic program, which focuses on STEM training. This development was revealed on April 1, 2026, as part of WHS’s commitment to enhancing educational experiences through innovative technology.

The newly established eSports venue spans 400 square meters and includes a competition area, a broadcast room, a production room, and two teaching spaces. This facility aims to inspire students and showcase the innovation behind WHS’s STEM program, according to Greg Fehr, a representative from the school.

Fehr emphasized the importance of creating a space that motivates students, stating, “It had to be a space that inspired students and showcased the innovation behind our STEM program.” The venue is equipped with advanced audiovisual systems, including the Extron matrix switch XTP II CrossPoint 6400 and a centralized control panel, the Extron touch panel TLP Pro 1025T.

In addition to the eSports initiative, WHS is also involved with Fruteá Tu Escuela, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2026. This program addresses critical nutritional issues among children in Argentina, where 98% of children have low fiber intake and 52% suffer from vitamin C deficiency.

The proposal for Fruteá Tu Escuela arises in a critical scenario where childhood and adolescence face the double burden of malnutrition. The initiative aims to improve children’s health and nutrition, complementing the educational advancements at WHS.

WHS has set ambitious goals for the future, with Fehr stating, “Our vision is to be a school magnet Dynamic STEM with 1000 STEM students in the next four years.” This reflects a broader commitment to enhancing educational opportunities and addressing health challenges among students.

As WHS continues to innovate in education, the integration of the eSports venue marks a significant step towards creating a dynamic learning environment that prepares students for the future.
