Las Vegas: Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro involved in altercation

Report: Bam Adebayo Hit Former Heat Teammate Tyler Herro In Fight Friday

Altercation Details Emerge

Bam Adebayo, a star player for the Miami Heat, and his former teammate, Tyler Herro, were reportedly involved in a physical altercation on Friday. The incident occurred at a practice court located in a Las Vegas hotel. According to reports, the scuffle began when Adebayo confronted Herro regarding comments Herro had made about the center on social media after their time together in Miami concluded.

Sources indicate that Adebayo reportedly struck Herro during the incident. No injuries have been reported in connection with the altercation. The Heat organization has stated they are aware of the situation but are not commenting, while the Milwaukee Bucks have also declined to comment.

Social Media Remarks and Team Dynamics

The confrontation stemmed from remarks Herro allegedly made on social media. Earlier this month, a screenshot of a conversation attributed to Herro circulated, in which he questioned Adebayo’s salary in relation to his defensive performance. Herro reportedly stated, “It’s a mf making 60 million but they worried about me and what I do. You should get paid 60 million to be a top tier defender on some nights? I’m just wondering.” He also added, “If I’m healthy I’m the one who needs help, who did Cleveland prioritize taking away in the playoffs?”

Following a trade, Herro also posted a graphic on his Instagram Story highlighting players with low field goal percentages from midrange, which included Giannis Antetokounmpo and Adebayo. Antetokounmpo was listed first at 26.8 percent, with Adebayo at 35.9 percent. Direct messages were also reportedly leaked, showing Herro criticizing the Heat center, suggesting that one should not be paid a significant sum for being a good defender only on certain nights.

The tension between the two players is notable, given they spent seven seasons together as teammates. Adebayo is currently playing under a three-year, $160 million deal with Miami. Reports indicate that there has been a “level of resentment” among multiple former Miami Heat players concerning Adebayo’s standing within the organization. These players reportedly resented Adebayo being perceived as the “chosen one” in Miami, noting he was never part of trade rumors and signed a substantial extension with the team.

Recent Trade and Future Meetings

The Heat recently completed a significant trade with the Milwaukee Bucks. In this deal, Miami sent Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakučionis, three first-round picks, one pick swap, and one second-round pick to Milwaukee. In return, the Heat acquired Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis.

Prior to this trade, Adebayo was reportedly the only player the Heat were unwilling to include in trade discussions. Adebayo has spent all nine seasons of his career with the Heat since being selected with the No. 14 overall pick in the 2017 NBA draft. He has earned six All-Defensive selections and three All-Star nods during his tenure, contributing to the team’s two NBA Finals appearances.

During the 2025-26 season, Adebayo averaged 20.1 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game, with a 44.2 percent field goal percentage. He also expanded his shooting range, making 127 three-pointers after hitting 102 triples across his first eight seasons combined. Herro averaged 19.5 points per game during his time in Miami. There will be considerable attention on Adebayo and Herro when the Heat and Bucks play each other next season.
