Disney Branded Television Names Jenna Boyd Senior Vice President of Development

Jenna Boyd has been appointed senior vice president of development for Disney Branded Television.

The announcement was made by Charlie Andrews, executive vice president of live action and unscripted content. Boyd will report to Andrews and oversee the scripted series development team as well as creatively supervise production for Disney+ and Disney Channel scripted series pilots.

“We are beyond excited to welcome Jenna to Disney Branded Television and feel so lucky to have her joining the team,” said Andrews. “She is a passionate and skilled executive with tremendous vision and an impressive track record of developing hit shows for kids, teens, and families. Her extensive expertise creating breakout series will be instrumental in identifying and creating big, immersive worlds, as well as new series filled with the comedy, music, and Disney magic our audiences love.”

Boyd most recently ran her own production company, Field Day Entertainment. She partnered with The Cartel, where she additionally served as manager, to build a talent roster and create kids, family and animation content for both broadcasters and streamers.

Before founding Field Day Entertainment, Boyd served as director of kids and family series at Netflix. In that role, she built and helmed their original animation and live-action series collection in addition to the creative team honed in on kids and family content. The projects she worked on include “Alexa and Katie,” “Julie and the Phantoms” and the Emmy-winning series “The Baby-Sitters Club.”

Prior to Netflix, Boyd served as chief content officer at GoldieBlox and senior vice president of animation development at Nickelodeon. She kicked off her career in series development working on “Avatar: The Last Airbender.”
