One of Australia’s top young chefs has revealed the secret menu item she gets at McDonald’s and where to get the best takeaway nuggets of all time.
Kimberly Tang, 27, confessed she heads to McDonald’s semi regularly despite cooking up a storm at Chatswood’s Chef’s Table as the sous at night.
Speaking to Good Food she confessed she likes to order a double cheeseburger when she visits the popular chain – but adds her own chef’s twist.
She replaces the tomato sauce and mustard which comes on the burger with Big Mac sauce and opts for a steamed bun.
But this Mc-Meal isn’t the ‘least cheffy’ thing Kimberly eats.

She revealed she loves chicken nuggets.
‘Two Peck Crispy Chicken’s nuggets and wings in plum salt,’ to be exact.
She also said she likes to head to Top Ryde Baker’s House for their famous Bahn Mi – suggesting people go outside of peak times to avoid the long lines the bakery has become notorious for.
Kimberly continues to win awards for her food. She was named the Golden Chef of the Year in 2021 and being named in the 30 under 30 list compiled by Melbourne Food and Wine.
She also won the Pamela Bakes award at this year’s HostPlus Awards.
