Trevor Bauer has officially signed with the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League, marking a significant step in his effort to revive his professional baseball career after a 194-game suspension. Bauer is scheduled to pitch on opening night, April 21, 2026, at Fairfield Properties Ballpark in Central Islip, New York.
After being released by the Los Angeles Dodgers in January 2023, Bauer has been working to re-establish himself in the sport. His suspension was a result of violations of MLB’s domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse policy. In 2024, he was named the Mexican Baseball League’s pitcher of the year, showcasing his talent on an international stage.
The Long Island Ducks, established in 2000, have a history of nurturing talent, with over 1,450 players having advanced to Major League Baseball in the league’s 27-year existence. The Ducks have also drawn over 50 million fans to their games, with a record of 721 sold-out games, underscoring their popularity.
Michael Pfaff, president of the Long Island Ducks, expressed enthusiasm about Bauer’s addition to the team, stating, “We are excited to welcome Trevor to Long Island. His talent and knowledge will be important additions to our ballclub.”

With 15 professional seasons under his belt, including 10 in Major League Baseball, Bauer has played for four teams during his MLB career. He recorded an impressive 1.73 ERA during the 2020 season, highlighting his capabilities on the mound.
