Indiana suffers its second consecutive defeat, missing another crucial Quad 1 opportunity. The Hoosiers are trending towards the unfavorable side of the NCAA tournament bubble.
SECOND HALF
Final media timeout: 72-62 Michigan State.
Lamar Wilkerson’s impressive second half continues, now totaling 29 points for the game.
The student section has been vocal towards Reed Bailey, booing him upon entry but later switching to sarcastic cheers, eventually chanting his name after a few good plays.
Despite their efforts, Indiana faces a significant challenge. The team has fought hard in the second half, but Michigan State has maintained its lead.
MSU leads 69-57 at the under-8.
Indiana has managed to cut the deficit to five points multiple times, but Michigan State consistently responds with critical shots. Kur Teng has been particularly troublesome for IU, scoring 18 points on 6-for-8 shooting, all from beyond the arc.
Lamar Wilkerson is excelling in the second half, contributing 14 points since halftime, bringing his total to 24. He is shooting 9 for 17 overall, including 4 for 11 from three-point range. Wilkerson entered today 15 threes shy of tying Steve Alford’s single-season record of 107, set in 1987.
Sam Alexis briefly exited to the locker room but quickly returned to the bench and is back in the game.

Indiana is showing more fight in the second half, outscoring MSU 13-12 since halftime, demonstrating a stronger effort than in the first half.
Tucker DeVries has reached 18 points, his highest since the Rutgers game in late January, proving vital for IU today.

IU’s offense has struggled, starting the half 1 for 6 from the field. Defensive efforts have improved slightly, but Indiana still has a considerable deficit to overcome.
The game resumed in Bloomington following a fantastic halftime performance by The Firecrackers, a jump rope team that consistently impresses. The crowd’s ovation for their performance rivaled any moment from the first half of the basketball game.
HALFTIME: Michigan State 45, Indiana 37
IU is fortunate that the score isn’t worse. The Hoosiers closed the half on an 11-6 run after DeVries’ timeout.
Foul trouble is a significant concern, with Reed Bailey and Sam Alexis both at three fouls, compounding IU’s existing size disadvantage. There are questions about whether Andrej Acimovic could see some playing time today.
Lamar Wilkerson scored 10 points for IU, though his first half performance was lackluster, marked by questionable shot selections and a failure to ignite the team.
FIRST HALF
Darian DeVries called a timeout with IU trailing 39-26 with 4:22 remaining. Some fans expressed their frustration with boos.
This came after Kur Teng hit another three-pointer, his fourth of the first half, after baiting Tayton Conerway into jumping too early.
There is little to highlight positively for IU in this first half, as Michigan State has dominated.

Tucker DeVries leads IU with eight points, tied with Nick Dorn for the team lead in rebounds with two.
Jaxon Kohler leads MSU with 14 points on 4-for-5 shooting, presenting a significant matchup challenge for IU. The Hoosiers have struggled to contain him.
Compounding IU’s frontcourt issues, both Sam Alexis and Reed Bailey have two fouls.
MSU is shooting 64 percent from the field, including 4 for 7 from three-point range, while Indiana is at 28 percent overall and 3 for 14 from beyond the arc, leading to a double-digit deficit.
Hoosiers are already down by double digits at the under-12 timeout, with a score of 21-10 in favor of Michigan State.
IU had a brief 5-0 run, highlighted by a Tucker DeVries layup off a turnover, which momentarily energized the crowd. However, Michigan State quickly countered.
Indiana appears overmatched on both ends of the court, struggling offensively against MSU’s switching defense and losing defensive assignments too frequently.
