Patrick Mahomes is so dedicated to his rehabilitation that he takes a trainer with him even during family weekends. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback is recovering from surgery to repair a torn ACL and LCL, which he suffered in December.

Brett Veach, the Chiefs’ general manager, stated that Mahomes is way ahead of schedule in his recovery process. He began rehabilitation just one day after surgery in mid-December and has been in the training facility every single day since.

Mahomes has a history of quick recoveries. He previously returned from a dislocated knee in just three weeks. Yet, there are concerns about protecting him from overexertion during the upcoming training camp.

The Chiefs are considering Mahomes’ participation in offseason work and training camp. Veach emphasized the importance of ensuring that Mahomes does not push himself too hard as he progresses through his rehabilitation.

Veach remarked, “I think the biggest challenge we’re going to have is protecting him against himself.” His commitment to recovery is evident as he continues to prioritize his health while balancing family time.
