Rudy Giuliani, once hailed as ‘America’s Mayor’, is now hospitalized in critical condition in Florida. The former New York City mayor is 81 years old and has faced numerous legal challenges in recent years.
Giuliani served as mayor from 1994 to 2001 and gained national prominence for his leadership after the September 11 attacks. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Donald Trump for his service.
However, his reputation has suffered significantly. He was disbarred in New York and Washington, D.C., and faced criminal charges related to the 2020 election. In addition, he lost a defamation case in 2023 that resulted in a judgment of $148 million against him.
Giuliani’s health status has raised concerns. Ted Goodman, a spokesperson, stated, “Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he’s fighting with that same level of strength as we speak.”
Trump expressed sympathy for Giuliani, saying, “What a tragedy that he was treated so badly by the Radical Left Lunatics, Democrats ALL – AND HE WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING!” This reflects the ongoing support from some quarters despite his legal woes.
Giuliani also hosted an online show called ‘America’s Mayor Live’, where he discussed various topics including politics and current events. Yet, his recent troubles have overshadowed these past achievements.
The specific cause of Giuliani’s hospitalization has not been disclosed. Observers remain uncertain about the duration of his stay and his prognosis moving forward.
