Vea’s agent, Collin Roberts, confirmed to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo that contract talks had stalled, leading to the trade request. Vea is currently scheduled to earn $18 million in the final year of his existing contract.
Vea’s Career with the Buccaneers
The Buccaneers drafted Vea as the 12th-overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. He has since played eight seasons with the team. During his tenure in Tampa, the defensive tackle was selected for two Pro Bowls and contributed to the Buccaneers’ Super Bowl victory in 2020.
