EastEnders star Nina Wadia has renewed her vows to husband Raiomond Mirza after 25 years of marriage in a romantic ceremony.
Nina is best known to EastEnders fans as the formidable Zainab Masood, who she played for six years between 2007 and 2013.
During that time she was involved in some dramatic storylines, including discovering her son Syed’s affair with Christian Clarke and tricking her abusive husband Yusef into entering a burning building.
The actress first married husband Raiomond in 1998, just a few months after being introduced by Nadia’s sister.
The couple’s original wedding ceremony was held in Canada, where Raiomond is from, with a large crowd, though they chose to do things differently this time around.

The renewal of their vows took place on Croatia’s island of Losinj, and was attended only by the couple’s two children, 19-year-old daughter Tia and son Aidan, 16.
Speaking to Hello! Magazine, the Zainab Masood actress revealed that the idea of renewing her vows came from daughter Tia, who was upset to have not been at the couple’s wedding.
‘When she was younger, Tia said the funniest thing which prompted all of this,’ Nina explained. ‘When she was looking at our wedding photos, she said to me: “Mum, how come I didn’t get to come to the wedding day? I wanted to be there!”‘
Nina explained that the special day was ‘about celebrating their kids’ amid a ‘really big year’.
‘It has been a really big year for us in a lot of ways, so we thought: “Let’s do something special.”‘
Despite this, she revealed that son Aidan wasn’t as keen as his sister.
‘[Tia] was very excited when we decided to renew our vows – my son, not so much. He’s a 16-year-old boy so he’s not got a romantic bone in his body! But he came around when we told him where we were going.
‘We had a huge wedding first time around. This time, we wanted just the four of us.’
Nina has recently expressed her love for her time on EastEnders, telling ITV’s Loose Women panel that she would ‘go back in a heartbeat’.
Following her exit from the BBC soap, she thought she would go back into comedy, where her career began, but went on to reveal that, ‘Zainab Masood ruined my career for a year because no casting director touched me.’
