Im a Celeb confirms two new campmates as star details sad reason for stint

I’m A Celeb: Jamie Lynn wants to ‘quit’ after challenge

Two new campmates were brought into I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! on Wednesday in a surprise twist.

Jockey Frankie Dettori and former boxing champ Tony Bellew were confirmed tonight as this year’s late arrivals after they turned up in the Australian jungle camp.

Detailing how he received heartbreaking news of his nan’s death the day after signing up to the ITV reality show, Tony explained: “I signed the day before she passed away, so there was no going back then.

“If I sign something, I honour my agreement. In an ideal world I would have left it but I had signed.

“I was coming, so I am here. But I am going back to bury her on the 15th.”

“I was going to renegade if I couldn’t move the burial date. I can bury her now when I get back.”

Paying tribute to his grandmother Rose, who he described as “the boss of the house” on social media, he added: “She was in a home.

“And she told my mum ‘I’ll be able to watch [I’m A Celebrity] every night’.

“So yeah, it is what it is. She’ll be watching, you know, from wherever she is and whatever she’s doing.

“She was a diamond of an old lady. She was wonderful.”

Meanwhile, Frankie, who was supposed to retire earlier this month, signed up for I’m A Celebrity before agreeing on a deal to keep riding and move to America in 2024.

When about the prospect of a bush tucker trial hurting him or three weeks in the jungle leaving him jaded, he said: “I ride horses every day, you know, you can’t think like that.

“I can walk across the road and get run over by a bicycle, so it is what it is. You know, I believe you’ve got to live in the moment.

“When I get out, of course, I’ll have the other plans, but that’s after the show.

“I’m not gonna start thinking like that, I want to go out there with a clear mind, clean canvas and take it on.”

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues on Thursday at 9pm on ITV.
