Susanna Reid says Strictly stars will be coming back to earth with a bump
Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid has warned this year’s Strictly Come Dancing contestants that they will “come back to earth with a bump” now that the competition is over. The presenter appeared in the show in 2013 and was paired with Kevin Clifton.
The pair finished as runners-up to model Abbey Clancy and her partner Aljaž Škorjanec. Susanna today appeared on Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg and reflected on what the contestants could be feeling this morning.
“It’s the most magical, sparkling, fantastic experience to be involved in,” she recollected. “It is not real life, so I have to say to you any of those contestants who wake up this morning, they will come back to earth with a bump.
“Because it’s like a completely different planet where you breathe air which is sequin-infested,” she laughed.
Last night’s contest saw former Coronation Street star Ellie Leach and her pro partner Vito Coppola emerge victorious after a hard-fought final. She and her fellow finalists, West End star Layton Williams and his partner Nikita Kuizman and EastEnders’ Bobby Brazier and partner Dianne Buswell all had to perform three dances.

Despite have the lowest judges’ score of the three contestants, the public was behind the couple and they were announced the winner after the phone votes were added to their scores.
Overwhelmed by their win, Ellie was thrilled as she said: “I actually genuinely cannot believe this.”
Vito was highly emotional as he wiped tears away as Ellie comforted him.
She told host Tess Daly: “This is the first time I’ve seen him cry and for once you’re crying more than me so this [the Glitterball] is for you.”

Embracing one another in a huge hug, the audience erupted into applause as Claudia highlighted it was Vito’s first win on the show.
The presenter asked him how it felt and he replied: “I mean this is like the cherry on the cake!”
Looking at Ellie, he told audiences what she’s been through during her time on the show, such as blisters and bruises, but has remained amazing throughout.
Tess added: “We are so proud of you both, congratulations you have won the Glitterball!”
The Strictly Come Dancing final is available to watch on the BBC iPlayer. Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg is on BBC one at 9am on Sundays.
