Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves remain one of the sweetest couples in Hollywood, nearly two decades after they started their romance. Many wonder what the secret is to their wonderful union, and many forget, Alves already spilled the details!
In a resurfaced interview with Us Weekly in 2018, the Just One Bite author revealed how she and McConaughey’s marriage has continued to stay so strong and full of love. While they’ve said numerous times they have nothing but love and respect for one another, their schedules can get mighty crazy (but that’s where this rule comes in)!
They spend time together as much as they can, and they try to cook together every chance they get. “We cook together. Even if I’m running late from work I say, ‘We’re having a late dinner,’” she said. “Does it happen every single day of the week? No, but it happens a lot.”
She added, “[We do] a lot of staying at home, cooking together or getting a hotel room that is 10 minutes away from the house. Just the fact that you don’t have to wake up to kids screaming for help with something — it already does something to a mom’s brain.”

For those that don’t know, Alves and the How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days star met in a club back in 2006, and McConaughey later described it as love at first sight, back in a 2020 interview with Oprah Winfrey via People.
In 2008, they welcomed a son named Levi, and two years later, they welcomed a daughter named Vida. They later married in a private ceremony in 2012, during a three-day event, and months later, they welcomed their third child named Livingston.
Fast forward to 2023, and they’re more in love than ever!
