Royal Family attends Wimbledon Men’s Final

Prince William and his wife Kate, the Princess of Wales, attended the Wimbledon men’s final on Sunday. They were joined by two of their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. The Royal Box also hosted several notable figures, including actors Dustin Hoffman, Nicole Kidman, and Ben Stiller.

Kate, who serves as the patron of the All England Club, presented the trophy to the men’s champion, Jannik Sinner, following his match against Alexander Zverev. She also presented the trophy to the women’s winner, Linda Noskova, on Saturday, though she was not accompanied by family members on that occasion.

This marks Kate‘s third and final appearance at Wimbledon this year. Her previous appearances included the women’s finals and a surprise visit on day four of the tournament, where she watched matches on the side courts and participated in the event’s social media series.

Post-Match Royal Exchange

Following Sinner‘s victory over Zverev, the royal family engaged in an extended conversation with him in a room within the main stadium. Sinner was seen holding the golden trophy during their chat. Kate congratulated him, remarking, “Fantastic achievement. It’s really inspiring to the children to see tennis at that level.”

Sinner, in turn, inquired about the young royals’ tennis habits. Prince George responded that they play on weekends, though not every day. Sinner had a similar conversation with the royals after last year’s final.

Reflecting on the experience, Sinner commented, “You can really see that they love the sport. This is exactly how we feel as players on court when we see them watching tennis. Staying there for four hours under the sun with the heat, it’s really nice.” He also noted the presence of the entire Royal Box and the crowd, stating, “Having the whole Royal Box there, as well, the whole people staying for a match like this for four-ish hours, it’s amazing. That’s also the reason why we love to play tennis.”

Distinguished Guests and Royal Wardrobe

Other dignitaries present in the Royal Box included German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Italy’s sports minister Andrea Abodi. Former Wimbledon champions such as Stefan Edberg, Lleyton Hewitt, Richard Krajicek, Jan Kodes, and Stan Smith were also in attendance. The crowd also featured Hollywood celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, Tom Hiddleston, and Andrew Garfield.

For the men’s final, Kate wore a bespoke olive version of Emilia Wickstead‘s Tidus dress, adorned with the All England Club‘s purple-and-green committee bow near her left shoulder. The dress featured a wide round neckline and an asymmetric panel that crossed the bodice, gathering at the waist and extending over one arm. She paired the dress with Ralph Lauren‘s Celia pumps in RL Gold calfskin, which appeared caramel-brown, and accessorized with Van Cleef & Arpels Magic Alhambra two-motif earrings and a Halcyon Days aquamarine Maya Gold Torque bracelet, along with tortoiseshell Ralph Lauren sunglasses.

Princess Charlotte was dressed in a blue dress with ruffled sleeves and white ballet flats, while Prince George wore a navy suit and striped tie. The Princess of Wales has been the royal patron of the All England Club since 2016 and has regularly presented trophies to the men’s champion and runner-up since 2019.
